The global media and entertainment company Time Out presented the updated list of the best neighborhoods in the world based on a survey of some 27,000 people.

The list was also verified by the company's editors, who took into account not only the nightlife and culture of the neighborhood but also the spirit of community, resilience and sustainability in the midst of a context as critical as that of the pandemic. .

The neighborhoods that received the most praise for meeting all of these characteristics were:

Norrebro, Copenhagen

This hip, multi-cultural neighborhood in Copenhagen tops the list of the coolest in the world for its dazzling mix of historic landmarks, ultra-modern architecture, and gourmet cuisine. New bakeries, restaurants and natural wine bars encourage the merchandising of local produce, and community initiatives like Car-Free Sundays (which bring live music and flea markets to the area) and interactive art shows bring a lot of pizzazz to the neighborhood.

Andersonville, Chicago

Known for its thriving LGBTQ+ scene and green spaces, Andersonville could not be left out of this list. Its opening to new bars and restaurants, as well as its proximity to beaches and coastal parks make it attractive from every point of view. But without a doubt one of the initiatives that has allowed it to stand out the most is Clark Street Composts, a pilot program on ecological composting.

Jongno 3-ga, Seoul

The charm of this neighborhood lies in the grandparents huddled around baduk boards in Tapgol Park, the cart vendors selling traditional toffee in Songhae-gil, the restaurants serving North Korean food, and the many hidden cafes and breweries.

Leith, Edinburgh

A former industrial area, today it is positioned as a cultural hotspot, home to major arts institutions and start-ups. It stands out for its constantly growing creative and gastronomic scene.

Vilnius, Lithuania

The soul of Vilnius is centered in the Station District, where street art takes center stage through giant murals and sculptures crammed into neoclassical buildings. In addition, the artistic is also present in the flavors of the food, since the area is full of cafes and restaurants that offer mainly international cuisine.

The list of the best neighborhoods in the world is completed with Chelsea, New York, in sixth place; District XI, Budapest, in seventh place, and Ngor, Dakar, Sai Kung, Hong Kong, and Richmond, Melbourne, in positions eight, nine and ten, respectively.
