Alejandra Wolter is the creator and founder of La Phillippa, a brand from Tucumán that was born from the problem of not getting real sizes. “I traveled weekly to Buenos Aires to buy to resell, but I was frustrated not having a variety of sizes, something very common at that time that, luckily today, has already advanced a bit”, Alejandra remarks.

With the aim of offering quality and tailor-made sizes for her clients, the designer decided to start making her own designs. “I made up my mind and on one of my trips I bought a roll of cloth without knowing anything about what I had to do. It was my mom who helped me and I cut my first XXL size shirt. Then I bought the necessary machines and began to sell them in stores in my city”, highlights Wolter, who has been selling wholesale to Buenos Aires and Córdoba for four years now.

What public products or services are they targeting?

Today we have a variety of garments. Our strength is focused on women between the ages of 25 and 45, but our resellers manage to dress daughters, mothers and grandmothers alike for their business. As for the sizes, they are adapted to the garments and it is very important for us to work for real bodies. Without going any further, two weeks ago we launched a new T-shirt brand (KABRONA) with my sister that ranges from size 2 to 10. How have they reinvented themselves with the pandemic? It was hard at first, since our resellers were with their stores closed and most of them were not able to sell through social networks and of course everything turned from one moment to another to that type of sale. The good thing about being born in Argentina is that you get used to coping with crises and sudden changes. The pandemic was just one more challenge to survive. What do you think is your differential in the market? We are in Tucumán, the heart of the NOA, we offer our clients the same prices and the same quality that they can get in Buenos Aires without having to travel there to stock their business. We receive people from Salta, Santiago, Jujuy, Catamarca, La Rioja, and Córdoba who are happy to have a manufacturer and distributor so close to us. What experience do you want to offer your customers? It is our responsibility to keep our customers satisfied in how much variety, quality and price, but also to advise and encourage them so that their business works and is successful, for that reason a work team is essential for the business.

Regarding the quality of the service, where do you focus? The important thing is that the person who starts out in the clothing sales business does excellently and chooses us again, so we focus on advising them so that their purchase points directly to their potential customers. For this reason, whenever they are going to make a first purchase, we inquire about which public they are aiming at to help them better choose what they are going to resell. What are the greatest satisfactions that your work gives you? When a customer enters the store for the first time with a minimum of capital to start your own business reminds me of my beginnings: when I went with my bag to sell from house to house. Seeing them fulfill their goal of having their own store or Showroom is what fills me with pride.

Behind each store that opens its doors, there is a free and empowered woman who dreams, and who bets on the national industry to grow and I am happy to be part of the process. How are they projected? What is the future of the brand? They strongly ask us to be present in other parts of the country. It is something that we are analyzing without ceasing to consider the reality that we are experiencing. Always thinking about growing and of course betting on the national industry.
