The department store chain El Puerto de Liverpool will convert 41 Fábricas de Francia stores under its flagship brands Liverpool and Suburbia, with which it will try to increase its supremacy over commercial rivals such as El Palacio de Hierro, Sanborns, Sears, Woolworth and Coppel.

More than two years after having bought the chain of clothing stores Suburbia, the supermarket giant Wal-Mart Mexico, El Puerto de Liverpool has in this acquisition its greatest dynamism in sales with increases of 13.9% in Suburbia (to same stores or those with more than one year of operation). Rebound that almost doubles the 6.8% of the establishments that operate with the Liverpool brand.

In information sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), the company reported that as of 2019, the Fábricas de Francia brand will disappear after 30 years of operating it after its acquisition in 1988.

As of last June, El Puerto de Liverpool operated 131 department stores, 90 with the Liverpool brand, 41 with the name Fábricas de Francia, 124 Suburbia stores and 117 specialized boutiques such as Banana Republic, Chico's, GAP, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Williams - Sonoma, among others.

In the first six months of the year, the Port of Liverpool had a turnover of 57,896 million pesos, while its main commercial rival, Grupo Palacio de Hierro, sold 14,772 million, figures that represented annualized increases of 14.4% and 1.9%, respectively.

According to the sales figures reported to the BMV, for every 100 pesos that Grupo Palacio de Hierro sells, El Puerto de Liverpool invoiced 392 pesos.RB
