What royal children wear is often a source of inspiration for other moms, as these little ones often wear classic, elegant designs that never go out of style.

Although some miniroyals do use luxury brands, most prefer brands that are specifically dedicated to the little ones. Something they have in common is that they prefer totally childish looks, royal children hardly ever look like little adults.

Even those who are approaching adolescence or are already fully adolescents, such as Leonor and Sofía, or Amalia, Alexia and Ariana from Holland, choose --or are chosen-- designs appropriate for their age, without seeking to appear more years than they have.

The Grimaldis Recently, it emerged that little Gabriella from Monaco wore a head-to-toe Dior look for the Santa Devota festivities in the principality, including the small bag and slippers. The Grimaldi family and Princess Charlene are recognized for their closeness to high fashion and luxury brands. Gabriella's aunt, Princess Caroline of Monaco, and her cousins, Charlotte, Tatiana, Beatrice and even Alexandra, are recognized as fashion icons and little Gabriella will no doubt follow in her footsteps and those of her mother, a full-fledged fashionista. .

Dior is not the only brand that the little girl has worn, on a trip to New York for the twins Jacques and Gabriella with their mother, the flirtatious blonde wears a Gucci hat, a firm that she has also chosen for other looks Like her third birthday dress. Jacques, for his part, has also worn Gucci on a few occasions. Dolce & Gabbana, Moncler, Stella McCartney and Jean Paul Gaultier, all in their children's versions, of course, are other brands used by the fashionista mini princess.

And the little Englishmen The mother of Prince George –future king of England--, Charlotte and Louis, Kate Middleton, surely feels a lot of affinity for the way in which Spanish women dress their children, since many of the brands that the boys have worn on important occasions come, one way or another, from this country.

For example, the firm Amaia Kids, which Windsor children usually wear, is established in London, but Amaia Arrieta, who created and designs the firm's collections, is Spanish.

Amaia says on her website that her brand was born when she was pregnant and was looking for baby clothes “like the Spanish ones” in London, where she was already living, without finding anything she liked. That is how she decided to take the essence of Spanish children's design to England, where it is increasingly successful.

The page boy suits at Princess Eugenie's wedding are from the brand, as is the blue sweater George wore to meet his sister, Charlotte. The little princess, for her part, wore a red coat of the brand for her first day of school and a green one at Christmas 2019, in Sandringham.

Amaia Arrieta, according to “Vogue”, agrees that the traditional spirit of the garments she designs is what attracted the attention of the royals to her brand. “There has been a comeback. Royal children always look very sweet and well-groomed,” she told “Vogue Spain”.

When George had his first “official engagement” in New Zealand in 2014, all eyes were on what he would wear. The little one wore a navy blue jumpsuit with a boat embroidery signed by English childrenswear designer Rachel Riley, the jumpsuit sold out hours later.

“The clothes we make are timeless, long-lived” Rachel told “Vogue Spain”. And without a doubt they are, the "Heritage" collection includes jumpsuits, overalls and jumpers with smock embroidery or typically English or children's figures, such as George's overalls boat, little English "bobbies", Scotch terriers and more. When you visit the brand's page, it becomes clear that many of the little princess Charlotte's dresses are also from this firm.

Two other favorite brands of English princelings are La Coqueta, which has a similar story to that of Amaia Kids, it was created by a Spanish mother with five children who lives in London and who realized that the Spanish garments of her boys drew a lot of attention when they went out on the town; this decided her to create her own successful firm in England, but with Spanish inspiration.

A white and blue romper that Prince Louis wore before his first birthday is from La Coqueta, and the Casiraghi, children of Andrea and Tatiana, India and Maximilian, wore this signature at the Monaco Day celebration in 2018. This brand has the additional advantage of having an excellent value for money with really beautiful designs.

On the other hand, Princess Marie Chantal, wife of Pablo of Greece, created in the year 2000 the luxury children's fashion brand that bears her name, made with very high quality materials. It has met with great success, and both George and Charlotte have been photographed wearing it. In the photo of her third birthday, the mini princess is seen with one of her cashmere scarves, and in another of her photos, she wears a dress from the brand at a polo match.

Like us Other brands that royal babies and toddlers have worn --or wear-- are Pepa &Co, Elfie London, Doña Carmen, Fina Ejerique, Trotters and Wild & Gorgeous, all Spanish and/or English.

Then again, times have changed, and as we know, royals occasionally don our mortals' favorite brands, too, especially when not in the public eye.

George has been seen wearing Cath Kidston, while Princess Amalia of Nassau has been photographed wearing Zara. Echoing their mother Queen Letizia's affinity for low-cost fashion, Infantas Sofia and Leonor of Spain frequently wear Mango Kids and Isla Phillips, the daughter of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, has been seen wearing Crocs and Gap garments. Not all that glitters is gold!
