Cáritas has opened its first clothing store in the center of Seville, at number 11 Plaza del Salvador. The establishment is a clear commitment of the institution to the solidarity economy and environmental care, putting the person at the center.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Monsignor Asenjo, in charge of blessing and addressing a few words to the volunteers and staff of the entity present there, in which he highlighted the commendable work of Cáritas, placing Cáritas at the center of all its actions. the person, specifically, those who need the most help and accompaniment.

Subsequently, he visited the facilities accompanied by the director of Cáritas Diocesana de Sevilla, Mariano Pérez de Ayala, who remarked: "The need to change our way of consumption for more sustainable options that promote production and sale plus decent and fair employment".

He also recalled that "in relation to textile recycling, thanks to the collaboration of donors, parishes, town halls and different entities, Cáritas has been carrying out important work for years with the management of textile waste that arrives through containers reds and massive collections". These donations are sent to plants belonging to the national network Moda Re-promoted by Cáritas Española, for classification and better use.

Sustainable clothing of different styles to help the most vulnerable

The store, managed by BioAlverde, a social and labor insertion company of Cáritas Diocesana de Sevilla, is launched with three main objectives.

Its hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
