There are still gaps in Peruvian education. The recent irregularities in the process of 2021 Teacher Appointment of the Minedu, more than one professional, or student who is about to finish their degree, has wondered how much is the salary to which they can access to hold a position within a public and/or private institution.

According to official government information, disseminated by the newspaper La República, the salary increase for teachers will be carried out in two parts:

In 2022, your minimum salary will be raised in two sections: in March it will be S/ 2,500 and in November it will be S/ 2,600. This first advance will only be S/ 100. Following the data collected by the RPP platform, until the end of 2019, the Ponte en Carrera website of the Ministry of Education (Minedu) indicated that the salary of a teacher in the private sector ranged between S/ 900 and S/ 3,100 on average.

Only initial education teachers have an approximate remuneration of S/ 1,297, with the maximum salary being around S/ 1,800. In the case of primary school teachers, the salary varies between S/ 900 to S/ 1,800. While for secondary education, the salary is between S/ 1,000 and S/ 1,700.

The fact: The complete monthly remuneration (RIM) is an amount that is given in a general way to all teachers appointed based on their teaching scale and the work day.

This year there was no increase because it was not approved in the 2021 budget given the restrictions due to elections, according to the previous management.

He affirmed that this government has raised the need to double the salary of teachers by 2021, based on the talent, merit and effort of teachers, which in turn will result in better service for students.

He indicated that in the last 18 months progress has been made in the teacher relocation process and 180,000 have been evaluated, of which 55,000 were promoted and these promotions have implied a salary increase of 40%, for a amount of 344 million soles for next year.
