The company's most recent product and the first in this sports collection is a sweatshirt that eliminates viruses with which it comes into contact. According to Handshield Mediterranean, the sweatshirts are 99.98% safe and allow us to hug and support each other in places without fear. They have a duration of more than 100 washes but it does not need to be washed after each use, but when the user deems it convenient.

They are made of 50% polyester and 50% cotton. The novelty is how the active principle is carried and permanently attached to the textile fibers. They are for men and women and have a cost of 90 euros but are currently on sale for 65 euros. They are cream in color and have white and light blue details.

Like many other ventures in recent months, the initiative to create sweatshirts that protect against SARS-CoV-2 arose from Annabel Medina and Roger González, an entrepreneurial couple from Barcelona.

At the beginning of the pandemic, Medina and González detected great insecurity when going to the supermarket. They saw that people did not know how to hold the shopping cart so as not to get infected, in addition to using alcohol or antibacterial gel to disinfect everything that was in their path. Based on this premise, they began to work with specialists in antiviral nanoparticles, which led them to find a formula that, applied to textiles, manages to eliminate any virus or bacteria.

Initially, Handshield Mediterranenan s.l launched an antivirus hand protector to safely use supermarket carts, bus bars and the subway. Now the hoodie with pockets promises to be the most successful product of the Spanish company. Since its inception, Handshield has conceived its products as aid, and social action, in the face of an urgent need for global health, that is why part of the benefits go to social aid.
