The company will open its first two boutiques in a shopping center in the State of Mexico and in the country's capital.

Champion sportswear and footwear will no longer have department stores and online stores as their only points of sale in Mexico. The brand, together with IB Group, plans to open at least two boutiques in the next two years and even start producing some products in Mexico.

Patricio Ibarra, who is the general director of IB Group and operates the brand in Mexico, explains that his vision is to increase the presence not only with exclusive points of sale, but also in the digital channel. “With Champion it will be an omnichannel strategy. There will be a couple of own outlets, in department and specialty stores, and through direct branded online sales,” he says.

The exact location of the first two stores has not yet been revealed, although it is known that they will be installed in shopping centers or streets with a high flow of pedestrians. “The first store will open in 2020 and another one the following year. They will be very similar to the concept units that are in the United States today,” he mentions.
