Alex said that during the 128 days that Don Vicente was hospitalized at Century 2000 Hospital in Guadalajara, Jalisco, his grandmother, Doña Cuquita, spent the time that he was not next to her husband, to try to get some rest, in a nearby apartment, where they thought she would stay until she was calmer.

"I gave my opinion that my grandmother should not be left alone, let alone let her go to the ranch. I was living in an apartment near the city, while my grandfather was in the hospital and I said that right now the worst thing she can do is go to the ranch and you have to be with her 24 / 7 because that's when she needs us the most," Alex said.

"it's hard, but little by little we get to the idea because you Don't believe it. I couldn't stop crying for the first few days. Fortunately, we were able to say goodbye to my grandfather while he was conscious; the first few days I couldn't stop crying, but you're getting mental. Now I feel like my grandfather is more with me than when I was in the hospital," Alex said.

The young man wore one of Don Vicente's charro suits and although he did not suit him as he thought, he was not an impediment to wearing him proudly. "I said,'I'm going to take it because it's my grandfather's'; it's very special to me. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here. I love him with all my heart and I'm very grateful to him for everything he did for me, he always took care of me," Fernandez said.
