“The pandemic has caused many people to start exploring options to take care of their hair. Being at home led them to investigate and try the different methods”, explains Yohana Marín, founder of Enruladas.

From an Instagram account with more than 15,000 followers, Yohana Marín began to show her washing and hair care routines, demonstrating and advising people of all ages and genders.

“I lived in Brazil and tried all kinds of products, I know everything I sell because I tried it on my own hair,” she says. Today it has the first exclusive salon for suitable products in the whole country. Where in addition to providing personalized advice, all imported and national products are marketed to follow these methods that are already an international trend.

Now, what is Cowash and what is Low Poo? or high”, he explains. “The low poo is more similar to the traditional method (shampoo and conditioner) but a low sulfate, paraben-free, and silicone-free shampoo is applied,” he adds.

Sulphates, parabens, paraffin, silicone. If we read the labels and the ingredients of hair products we find a lot of components that have a very small percentage of that coconut oil that appears on the packaging. “Most of the traditional options are like hair makeup,” Yohana explains and adds: “That's why it's important to know what type of scalp, what type of porosity, what our hair needs. If you go to a hairdresser or a hair salon, you are going to say that you have dry hair and they are going to give you a product but perhaps that is not what you really need”.

Were they kidding us? What is Cowash and Low Poo (conscious capillary consumption arrives)

In addition to the store and the sale to the public, Yohana says that she ships to the whole country and sells wholesale. Many people resell the products and advise in turn in the so-called "transition to the method".

Know the language your hair speaks: adviceIt's not a beauty salon, but it's not a hairdresser either. In the heart of the city, Sarmiento 264, a small place attracts the attention of whoever passes by. Lots of options in creams, gels, shampoos and masks. The advice is brief and final. Questions range from whether your scalp itches to what products you're using and how long you leave them on. Yohana listens and then plays. Touching the hair allows you to know the level of damage and define the porosity. From there, start offering specific product options with instructions on how to use them.

“Many people spend a lot of money on traditional products and when they get here they may take something from $600 to start trying or up to $10,000 for a treatment that will last about 6 months,” he details. “We carry out a personalized follow-up. It's part of the service," he clarifies.

The place is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and it does not stop receiving curious people who pass by on the street or people who already know the method and have defined what they want to take. The sale is totally personalized and it shows.

“If you use Fructis, Pantene or Dove, what doesn't have sulfates has silicone. It's like a layer of makeup or like going to the hairdresser. Here, you can trust the products and review the ingredients one by one. Now that we are increasingly aware of what we eat, the clothes we consume and the waste we generate, it is time to have a more conscious relationship with the products we put in our hair”, analyzes Yohana.

“Any shampoo is not for everyone. That is why advice is key because when the person arrives, in general, they do not know their hair. You have to listen to it, explain what each product is for, follow up so that you can follow it at home and take into account the time that the person has to dedicate to this ”, he adds.

In addition to creams and hair products, in Enruladas you can find satin covers, shower caps, brushes for curlers, cotton turbans, among other complementary products.

The experience is gratifying, the hair changes in the first wash. It is about self-knowledge and, above all, enjoyment.
